Anonim

These are some of the most interesting restaurants that were born in the last few months in Barcelona. With concepts that revolve around mediterranean food, vegetarian or carnivorous , all of them demonstrate the desire to go out again to enjoy good food. Let's go?

FAT VEGGIES (Paris Street, 168)

This place is pure fire. If you like meat, you have probably visited Fat Barbies to enjoy their cooking on the grill . in January opened in the Eixample his first cousin: a restaurant that follows the same concept, the grill, but for vegetarians and vegans . In fact, they have maintained the FAT philosophy, to make it understood that They are not just any vegetable restaurant. : their vegetables are fat, succulent and designed to enhance all the flavor and enjoyment.

in this smokehouse everything is handmade , including drinks, pickles and sauces. Beyond that, and following the idea of doing everything at home, they have also designed the logo and part of the decoration themselves : They have painted the pictures that hang on the walls and have given a burnt effect to part of the furniture themselves.

The items on the menu are prepared with local, organic and ecological ingredients . All the dishes follow a similar tune: its smoky touch. With this idea we find different flavors, such as white bean hummus and seed crackers; carrots with romesco and gremolata sauce; and one of the stars of the house, a delicious cauliflower with white chocolate.

HARRY'S (Passage de la Concepción, 2)

Another of the restaurants that was born in the middle of the pandemic, Harry's, joins the list of places that have already become fashionable in the city . And it is not for less: to its attractive menu of Italian cuisine , adds its excellent location in the passage of the Conception, located between the two best known streets of Barcelona: Rambla de Catalunya and Paseo de Gracia.

The decor is another of its strengths, so personal as welcoming . The many paintings hanging on the wall and the large ceiling lights stand out, although the light is dim, perfect for any romantic dinner or a fun meeting between friends.

From the menu it is worth highlighting some dishes that are prepared directly at the table offering a show, such as the carbonara, prepared directly inside a large cheese.

The tagliata , also. This one comes with fries and balsamic sauce. They take dried rosemary, they light it with fire, and when it vanishes, a strong smelling smoke on the table . It also has a very good reputation for its exact cooking point. How you can tell that it is an Isabella's group restaurant.

JULIET'S (Passeig del Mare Nostrum, 19)

From the same Isabella's group, Julieta's restaurant also opened in June, with a different concept: here the specialty is rice and seafood . In fact, it is the first restaurant in the group that is not Italian, but 100% Mediterranean.

The menu has a variety of fun dishes to snack on, such as mini lobster roll , the cod fritters, or the grilled avocado stuffed with bluefin tuna.

The rice options They are quite diverse, but one of their best sellers is the red prawn from Palamós and the delicious black rice with baby squid and baby squid.

Among the options to choose from, a selection of embers could not be missing either, with proposals as exquisite as the monkfish suquet with crispy fried potato , or wild fish. 90% of their desserts are also homemade and they have some house cocktails to enjoy after eating.

The decoration of the premises has been adapted to the location, which is in front of Barceloneta beach and next to the popular hotel W . Its most photographed corner is made up of a pink table, a sofa upholstered in blue and white stripes, and some wooden chairs that give it a very fresh touch, making us feel as if we had traveled to Ibiza on vacation.

SUMAC & MAMBO (Carrer d'Enric Granados, 30)

Sumac & Mambo opened in November in another of Barcelona's best streets, in Enrique Granados, and it is one of the most personal proposals of Plantea Group , as it alludes to the Iranian roots of its CEO.

In addition to this gastronomic pillar, if something makes this place special, it is that visitors have the opportunity to try different brewers in line with the dishes that we have ordered and, if they wish, be advised by a master brewer to choose the most appropriate among their fifteen beer shooters.

The restaurant has two different spaces that allow two different experiences to be lived. One of them is Sumac, with a more sophisticated and cosmopolitan appearance , whose nerve center is its open kitchen. We can sit at the table that surrounds it to experience the process of how each dish is prepared, or sit at comfortable tables with sofas.

This room serves food prepared on fire and charcoal , with very diverse proposals. Some are lighter, like the chicken and vegetable cous cous croquettes, or the charcoal-grilled avocado with cauliflower hummus, portobello and dukkah. Others are more elaborate, like his delicious duck breast , pollentia, fresh snow peas, roasted strawberry sauce and sumac, the spice that gives the restaurant its name.

Dessert can never be missed when coming for lunch or dinner. On the menu we find options as exotic as the saffron ice cream, pistachio and rose petals . And other very fun ones, like their Magnum with red velvet, chocolate and nuts.

The other part of the restaurant is called Mambo . It is at the entrance and is a more informal space to enjoy the music and dishes to share with a slightly smaller menu, although beer is not lacking either.

MALEDUCAT (Carrer de Manso, 54)

Maleducat is a few steps from the popular Sant Antoni market . It is run by Victor Ródenas, who is in the kitchen, and the brothers Ignasi and Marc Garcia, running the room with a very close treatment of everyone who comes to visit them.

The name is quite original. They say that it could not be another: Maleducat (rude, in Catalan) is how Víctor and Ignasi affectionately insulted each other from a very young age.

The menu of this house of menjars it is short, but very varied , with many proposals of the day hanging on a blackboard, depending on what the season offers and the products on the market. They have a rice of the day that is constantly changing, either with seafood, or for example, with quail eggs when the hunting season arrives.

Their dishes are designed to share and offer strong contrasts of sea and mountain of Catalan food . Among the options to choose from, we find some delicacies such as the squid tartare with ajoblanco, basil and tomato granita. And some very different ones, like the poached beef tendons , mushrooms, piparras and grilled scallops, a whole set of textures. The best thing is the atmosphere of the site, as if we were among friends.

BLACK NAVY (Moll of Barcelona, S/N)

Although it is not an opening in itself, some establishments have also prepared culinary adventures the last months. For example, the Eurostars group has created two different concepts: the come to dinner and we invite you to sleep , or the EntreCote, EntreDos , both in the hotel Eurostars Grand Marina.

This latest initiative is designed for two people and includes a grilled beef entrecôte, and to finish, strawberries accompanied by raspberry sorbet with strawberry infusion. All this, in the company of their stunning views of Port Vell , the oldest and still operating part of the entire port of Barcelona. Your terrace will be open throughout the fall, weather permitting.
