LRNCE brand ceramics

Don't come back from Marrakech without them

What made a Belgian designer drop everything and move to Marrakech? Apart from the indisputable beauty of the Red City, inspiration, of course.

Laurence Leenaert created the firm LRNCE in 2013, that he started with sale of bags However, the artist's move to Morocco two years later led to the development of new products –rugs, sandals or blankets–, as well as Laurence's discovery of the pottery.

“I decided to go in another direction instead of just dedicating myself to fashion. I gave myself the freedom to do whatever I wanted." she comments her.

If there is something that defines this entrepreneur, it is her passion for play with materials (wool, cotton, cane, wood, clay, leather and linen) and the colors, making each of the craft pieces be unique.

“LRNCE is cheerful, graphic and focused on what is handmade so that each object has a story”, she points her. A story that has its roots in everyday life in this corner of North Africa, in which Laurence wanted to immerse himself completely, getting to spend – sewing machine in hand – a month in the desert with a local community. Being close to the artisans and taking care of the production became her maxim.

LRNCE decorates hotel rooms such as the Experimental Menorca or Parilio, in Paros (Greece). Soon we will also find a collection of ceramics in the Masseria Moroseta , in Ostuni (Italy) . Although the study is worth a visit, you can buy these photogenic items online.
