How about a Downton Abbey tea?
Located in Berkshire, in the southeast of England, Highclere Castle is a Victorian manor house surrounded by a park of more than 400 hectares. The castle is owned by the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon, whose family has inhabited the building since 1679. Julian Felowees, Downton Abbey author and longtime family friend, wrote the script for the series based on this impressive fortress.
Until now, the castle had opened its doors to organize themed tours of the series through the sumptuous interiors and gardens that were used for filming. Now, with the opening of London Lodge , a country house built in 1793 and lovingly restored, it is possible to spend the night in the estate, very close to the castle , and soak up the atmosphere and life of the aristocratic Crawley family and their servants during the Edwardian era.
