Who said flowers are just a spring show? For four years, Autumn arrives loaded with color Cordova . And it is that the FLORA festival, which will take place from October 11 to 21 , will transform the Andalusian city into a stage , how much less, bucolic.
Bass the motto 'The force' –an ode to the power of nature–, this edition will bring together five renowned international artists, who, through a series of ephemeral installations , they will reinterpret in a contemporary way Cordoban floral tradition.

At the same time, the festival will propose more than 50 cultural activities , among which are included Musical performances , meetings with artists, workshops and Guided (and free) tours of the facilities.

Courtyard Talent It has been the great novelty of the FLORA festival. This initiative took place in the courtyard of the Potro Inn and gave the opportunity to demonstrate his talent to artists or groups that they had never done so far a great flower installation.
The winning piece , that of the artist Terabitia , will be presented in competition with the other four installations of the festival.

Secondly, the chromatic poster of this edition is the work of Vietnamese photographer and floral artist , based in New York, Doan Ly , who regularly creates floral installations for events, film and television, as well as mastering editorial and commercial photography and video focused on surreal still lifes and botanical wonders.
THE LOCATIONS
The urban route, which will run through the different courtyards of Córdoba, has been an i original dea of Zizai Hotels, which has had the main sponsorship of the City Hall of Cordoba and the support of the Culture Delegation of the Junta de Andalucía, the Culture Delegation of the Córdoba Provincial Council, the CajaSur Palacio de Viana Foundation, the Cathedral Chapter of Córdoba and Loyola University.
The program proposes numerous activities.
The scenarios chosen to materialize botanical fantasies of the floral artists have been the second patio of the Archaeological Museum, the Patio de Columnas of the Viana Palace, the Baroque Patio of the Córdoba Provincial Council, the central patio of the Posada del Potro-Centro Flamenco Fosforito and the Patio de los Naranjos de the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba.
In addition, the festival will once again have an installation out of competition that can be enjoyed in the Contemporary Creation Center C3A : the work of the Dutch artist Herman DeVries, 250 kg of lavender flowers.
PARTICIPANTS
As headliner we find Shane Connolly, Florist to the British Royal House. His work for FLORA 2021 will be located in the Courtyard of the Orange trees. In turn, the Belgian artist Tom De Houwer, will delight us with its clean, geometric and colorful creations in the Courtyard of Columns of the Palace of Viana.

The third member of this edition of FLORA will be the danish study TABLEAU, a multidisciplinary collective founded in 2018 by Julius Værnes Iversen and whose passion for flowers is inherited from him. His spectacular work will be housed in the Baroque Courtyard of the Palacio de la Merced.
Secondly, the landscaper Inés Urquijo and the urban artist Nuria Mora , will star in the first collaboration of the contest. Their joint creation will take the second courtyard of the Archaeological Museum.
Terabitia, winner , among more than 70 proposals, of the call Courtyard Talent , complete the group of participants. The courtyard of the Posada del Potro-Flamenco Fosforito Center It has been the chosen enclave to develop his intervention.
It will be possible to visit the assembly of the installations with prior registration.
The artists in the contest will have four days, from October 11 to 14, to set up their floral installations , and the public will be able to access them October 15 to 20. You can also attend the assembly of facilities with Advance reservation.
As the final touch of the event, an international jury will select the winners, who will receive two prizes endowed with 10,000 and 25,000 euros.
