Huarte House
The Huarte House , extolled by the history of architecture since its construction in the late 1960s, is the object of desire of artists and intellectuals And yet, year after year, the house remains empty and inert, without selling, without being inhabited again.

The european modern movement , especially the Nordic, was embodied in this house without effects . its architects, Jose Antonio Corrales and Ramon Vazquez Molezun , resolved the concerns of their client (the founder of Huarte and the Alfaguara publishing house, Jesús Huarte, a patron of the arts and very sensitive towards innovative currents in architecture). Together they built this avant-garde temple in the Spain of 1960 , still impervious to a broader vision of architecture.
Today it languishes and hides even more in itself . From time to time he receives pilgrims of architecture in search of the mysticism that hides its walls. This house only admits buyers who value not only its historical importance, but the richness of domestic life that promises , a semi-buried bunker proof of contemporary pandemics.

It is an architectural work that creates passions, now also artistic. One of the best spanish architecture photographers, Luis Asin , has been studying for years every detail of the corners of the house, the inflection of the interior light, the change of the seasons that is reflected in the vegetation, the changing atmosphere of each hour of the day. This observation became a piece of art, The Fall a “living photograph”, made up of multiple moving photographs, reflecting the images that were taken over almost four months. The set of images became a video shown at ARCO 2019 in the Espacio Valverde gallery.
“It is an exciting work, it is art . During the execution period of the project I had the opportunity to observe and record the house and its garden continuously. The interior keeps all its splendor. The light and the gloom inside is savored , you have to discover the dreamlike atmosphere, almost unreal and unrepeatable. It's a misunderstood masterpiece today especially by institutions. It should become a public space for cultural dissemination ”, comments Luis Asín for Traveler.es.
One of the last occasions on which it was opened to the public was at the event Open House Madrid . Its director, the architect Paloma Gómez Marín points out: “ It has an exceptional human scale . The space is very well designed, with balanced dimensions. It is a house with roots, stuck to the ground as a platform from nature, to outside life”.
At this time, work is being done on a possible exhibition project of the artistic, photographic and videographic work of Luis Asin about the Huarte house, on the occasion of the next edition of Open House Madrid, which could take place both in the house itself and in the Espacio Valverde gallery.
