A UNIQUE BUILDING
The iconic building The Shed (the shed) has been designed by ** Diller Scofidio + Renfro ** ; and it will have 18,000 m2 to house two exhibition galleries, a theater with capacity for 500 people and a concert hall also available outdoors.
The Bloomer Building it is a tribute to the former mayor of New York City for 12 years. “Almost 15 years ago the mayor Mike Bloomberg embarked on the transformation of western Manhattan , and he had the vision to know that the area of hudson yards needed a cultural anchor that would ensure a vibrant and accessible future," said The Shed's Chairman of the Board of Directors, Daniel L. Doctoroff, at the project presentation.
