Put a cabin in your life!

From Utah to the Alps and from Chile to Finland, passing through Ecuador, Japan, Namibia, Iceland and, of course, Spain. Cabin fever knows no bounds.

The silence of the forest, the fresh air and the complete disconnection offered by these accommodations are just some of the attractions that make their success increase every day.

We all dream of a cabin in the middle of nowhere, but our latest discovery is within the borders of our country and promises to make that dream come true.

This fantasy made into a cabin is made up of three coquettish little houses baptized as Moradas no Ulla which are located in the province of A Coruña, very close to Santiago de Compostela and the virgin and solitary beaches of Arousa Norte and the Atlantic.

IN HARMONY WITH MOM NATURE

Why Moradas not Ulla? "Ulla is the river that we have next to us and the one that defines our landscape and surely our lives a little too" says Fran Devesa, creator, together with his partner Pilar López, of Moradas no Ulla.

“Moradas no Ulla (MU) began its journey in August 2018, although we started the project years before, looking for a way of life more in line with some of our passions, such as nature, rural life and design”, explains Fran to Traveler.es

Moradas no Ulla: three cabins in the middle of Galician nature

These three exclusive cabins, designed by the architect Nacho Piñeiro, They have a modern design with simple lines and a Nordic-inspired interior design.

The warmth of the wood and the selection of a consistent and integrated naturalistic landscaping give a unique singularity to each of the cabins, where the most important thing is the well-being of the guests, in complete connection with nature.

“Our main philosophy is, above all, respect and care for those who visit us and for everything around us” Fran says.

PUT A CABIN IN YOUR LIFE

In Moradas no Ulla privacy is absolute: “We have four cabins, but we use one as a warehouse, so to be able to rent, we have three. Each one has its own space and there are no common areas”, Fran tells Traveler.es

Each cabin has capacity for two adults and one child up to 12 years old and has an interior surface of 27 square meters and an exterior terrace of 9 square meters.

The interior consists of a bedroom with 150cm bed; an equipped kitchen with all the basics; a bathroom with hydromassage jet shower, ecological amenities and towels; Y a living area with a sofa bed small, air conditioning, heating, TV, wifi, books and games.

“The cabins are transportable and the main material with which they are built is ecological Galician pine, from local plantations” Fran adds.

COUNTRY LOVE

Fran y Pilar's project bets on a new concept of rural tourism, sustainable and respectful with the environment, taking care of the coherence of the project in every detail and at every moment.

The three cabins are located in the heart of a landscape full of forests and meadows: “We are in a rural environment in the municipality of Teo, surrounded by nature, a few meters from an area called Xirimbao, which houses a suspension bridge over the beautiful river Ulla”, Fran tells us.

And they are pet friendly!

The proximity to the city of Santiago de Compostela (about 15 minutes by car) makes this accommodation a the ideal starting point to explore the area, escape from the urban chaos and reconcile with the essentials of life.

“From here, you can do some activities like cross the suspension bridge and also descend it by kayak or rafting” Fran says.

Nearby is also the town of Padrón and the northern region of Barbanza Arousa, with its wild beaches at the mercy of the Atlantic.

PRACTICAL DATA

Moradas no Ulla is open all year and in addition, you can add to your stay an artisan and natural breakfast served in the cabin itself.

“We also have the collaboration of a local restaurant, that they have the option of serving lunch and dinner in the cabin”, adds Fran.

At the moment they do not plan to expand the number of "dwellings": "We like that they are few, to be able to manage them with time and also offer a little more exclusivity and privacy" , concludes the owner of the accommodation.
