dani, the new promise of pop
His name is Daniela Diaz Costas , but she prefers to be called dani . “In my house music has always been listened to at all hours, in the car too, and from a very young age she was very interested in knowing what was playing. i loved it too listening to my father play the guitar , I always had that concern”, she tells us.
“I wanted to study guitar but also I applied for piano and oboe when I did the tests of the conservatory. I remember that my father played me a recording of the story of Peter and the wolf represented with instruments and the oboe part I loved,” she continues.
Also, her uncle, Miguel Costas, former vocalist and guitarist of Siniestro Total , was also her mentor. But her musical DNA was only the trigger for a great journey that, thanks to his indisputable talent , she has finished in Madrid.
She graduated in Advertising and public relations , she has turned what in her day was just a hobby, songwriting , in a life project that she has baptized 'dani'
With just turned 23 years old , Daniela has left behind her hometown, Vigo , of which she tells us, coffee in hand and already with a certain nostalgia, on a terrace on Calle Argumosa, in Lavapiés -plan suggested by her, of course-.

Daniela composes songs since she was 15 years old

“It reflects that change between adolescence and adult life. When I finished the album I realized that it was a reflection of my personality right now, of twenty-year-old Daniela. “I think my songs are characterized by being very transparent about what I want to express. Many artists inspire me, because I have always heard of everything. All these influences are inside although when I compose I don't think of a specific artist”.
Her range of references is very wide, but when she started working with her producer, Aaron Rux -from the record company El Volcán-, she made a playlist where we find some of them: from ABBA to Oasis , going through **The Carpenters or Billie Eilish. **

And what about travel? Are they also part of her inspiration? "I love traveling , I think it is the best way to spend time and the money. You learn, you create memories for a lifetime, you meet people... I still have a lot to know, but Of all the trips I have done, I prefer Brighton” she says.

The love for the English city and its cultural scene were not enough reasons to leave Vigo, because, whatever they say, there is nothing like watch the sunset at Vao beach to reconcile with the world.
