From the end of February to the end of March, one of the most anticipated natural phenomena of the year takes place: the Cieza flowering , during which the fields of this Murcian town awaken from the winter torpor and dress up for greet spring.
Peach trees, almond trees, apricot trees, plum trees... Each tree adopts its corresponding color and joins the great explosion of color and aroma that floods the place.
This year, from February 25 to March 20 and with trees in bloom as a backdrop, activities of all kinds will be carried out: hiking through the beautiful landscapes, nautical descents down the Segura river, concerts, poetry recitals, exhibitions, talks, gastronomic events and many more surprises.

THE LAND OF THE PEACH
The peach from Cieza, is internationally famous, as the town is the largest peach producer in Europe, with more than 330,000 tons of product and 1,400 hectares of crops.
The texture, the color, the smell and of course the taste, make this delicacy unmistakable, which is harvested from June to August.
That, yes, months before the first fruits begin to sprout, Cieza already smells like peach and, next to the white of apricots and plums, the pinkish flowers of peach trees they form a beautiful spring carpet.

ROUTES IN FLOWER
The spectacle of flowering is never the same, since the farmers plant fruit trees of one or another variety and in addition, the weather conditions they can cause the moment of greatest intensity to be brought forward or delayed in the different parts of the municipality.
Still, some of the most popular places to enjoy the bloom are: El Acho, La Brujilla, Cabezo Redondo, Las Cañadas, El Elipe, El Horno, La Macetúa, El Olmico, la Parra or Soto de la Zarzuela.
Visitors can join the organized routes by the company Agromarketing Tourist Experiences and thus enjoy a truly immersive experience, both on foot and with your own vehicle.
Cieza smells like peach
The Route ‘Flowering of Cieza + Valle de Ricote’ (from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.) departs from Cieza and makes stops at many places and viewpoints such as the Huerta de Ojós, Azúd, the Alto de la Bayonne viewpoint, the orchard of Villanueva del Río Segura and the Big Wheel of Abarán. It also includes a picnic and a visit to the Cieza Peach Interpretation Center.
The Route ‘Flowering of Cieza Experience’ (from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.) It also starts from the municipality and takes a tour of the landscapes in bloom, ending at the Interpretation Center.
You can also choose the 'Walking Route' (from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.), which walks through the landscapes of the area or the ‘Sunset in Bloom’ (from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.).

ACTIVITY PROGRAM
In addition to the routes to enjoy the beauty of the fields of Cieza, there is an attractive program of activities that includes music, culture and, of course, gastronomy.
The soundtrack will be provided by Cieza Flower Festival, which this year celebrates its seventh edition. On Friday, March 20, Star Morente will perform at the Teatro Capital de Cieza and tickets are already available.
The Plaza de España of the municipality will host, from March 10 to 13, the gastronomic fair FlavorArt, in which important chefs and cooks will participate and the best products of the Region of Murcia will be tasted.
On February 26 and March 5, 6, 12 and 13, the Bloom Interpretation Center that has been enabled will host, at the Soto de la Zarzuela viewpoints, the event Soto Sounds , with musical performances by the students of the Cieza Conservatory of Music.
Cieza and the spectacle of its flowering
The recreational and sporting events will start on Saturday, February 26 with the Flowering Solidarity Walk in Cieza ‘Memorial Alberto Lucas Alarcón’ and on Sunday, February 27, will take place the II Tourist Motorcycle Route of Los Dormis.
On March 5 will take place the Mountain Bike Route and the II Open of Speleology , while the XII Ascent to Portazgo and the concentration of canoeing will be on March 6. The 10k City of Cieza will be held on March 12 and the Senderista march is scheduled for the 13th. Finally, the IV Color Run organized by the OJE will be on March 19.
