A gambling den named after a woman, specifically the protagonist of one of the mythical classics beach boys , is the last to arrive. Her name is Barbara Ann _ (Santa Teresa, 8) _ and her thing is pure glamor and sophistication with a roguish and very rocker soul. So rocker that she doesn't care what time of day it is, because as soon as she enters, it becomes night. And what can one do in a place where blonde and bowie they receive you when you arrive (eye, they are not the only ones)? Drink, and very well, based on signature cocktails, such as Punk -rum, mango, pineapple and a spicy touch-, Sweet Jane -strawberry gin, lemon juice, raspberry and blueberries- or the Basil and orange Mojito , a classic reverted. To accompany, an informal snack menu with unconventional proposals for a place of these characteristics -together with the decoration, the kitchen is what gives it that little point of sophistication or-, such as salmorejo with Parmesan ice cream and fresh basil infusion, beef tenderloin roll with brioche bread or Norwegian salmon sashimi with wakame seaweed and wasabi ice cream. It has a take away soul, but in Crypeka _(Santa Teresa, 2) _ you feel like staying a while, sitting down and enjoying your coffee, your sandwiches or your salads. At first glance it is seen that it is a cozy space, decorated in light and citrus tones, and on the menu, proposals to enjoy with memory: pastries made from the recipes of the great-grandmothers of the owners of the premises, freshly roasted coffee, fresh milk... turning _(Santa Teresa, 2) _ has carved out a well-deserved niche for itself among the most outstanding options on the street for lunch or dinner. Among other reasons, because it is one of the first places in Madrid where street food has been treated with the respect that it often deserves. Because eating with your fingers does not mean having to do it wrong or fast.
You don't eat anything here ; submerged in a total street atmosphere -two spaces, on one side the most avant-garde and rogue , as if a street food stall were fully involved in the restaurant -show cooking included-, and on the other, a more intimate and collected space, but nothing traditional. On the menu, dishes of world street food to which they have been given a spin, especially in relation to the product -one hundred percent Spanish- and in the elaboration processes -grandmother's tradition in abundance and stews of a lifetime-. It is unforgivable to leave here without trying the stew-dog , its version of hot dog made with pork cheeks, or its star dessert to date, under the suggestive title Grandma likes cheese.

It was one of the first to arrive and, without knowing it, it became the gateway for other options with a lot of punch. Is named Meat _(Santa Teresa, 4) _, although it is better known as the hamburger place, because they only have one; but it is not an inconvenience to go and have to repeat again and again, because it is delicious. Its very young owners were inspired by local New York, London or Berlin for this concept of a cocktail bar in which you can have a snack, but not much, because the kitchen should not be the protagonist -in fact, they do not even have a menu-, although with a cheeseburger proposal like this, to eat with your hands -no cutlery- and stain up to the elbow, it is impossible to go unnoticed. The claim is the drinks and signature cocktails , and there is no doubt, because the cocktail bar is the one who welcomes you as soon as you enter the premises, decorated, by the way, in the purest decadent New York industrial style, based on recovered materials.
