TAKE A LOOK. “Mas Salagros was created to offer other types of tourism more responsible. All rooms were built facing south in order to obtain maximum sunlight and reduce energy consumption naturally”, summarizes Javier Pérez, director of this eco-resort where you can breathe calm, just 20 minutes from Barcelona by car, next to the Parque de la Serralada Litoral.

We love the hotel bungalow-style rooms with their own small private garden overlooking one of the pools (it is a delight to enjoy reading in the sun on their loungers) and, of course, do not forget to take a look at the suites, they are spectacular.

ECO SPIRIT. Since its opening in 2015, the hotel has been committed to solar panels, bioclimatic roofs and green energy contract. "The boiler is biomass, the decoration was made with restored materials, we seek good waste management and encourage recycling," Javier emphasizes. "We are also a charging point Tesla Destination Charging for electric cars and, since 2018, we have been committed to reduce our carbon footprint year after year".

"Furthermore," he comments, "we have obtained the seal Green Globe, which is only awarded to those companies committed to sustainability in the tourism sector”, adds on this little Eden in which, in addition, they serve organic haute cuisine and proximity.

GASTRONOMY. All the Mediterranean-style gastronomy is managed by the same team, led by Beniamino Campolo, executive chef & F&B director, and Samuel Dias, executive sous-chef. “We have three different gastronomic offers, although united by the same ecological and sustainable philosophy highlights the director.

Gastronomic restaurant 1497 It is the flagship of the house. In this elegant but cozy space haute cuisine is prepared. In addition to the menu, they offer two tasting menus with organic wine pairing. The restaurant has a cellar with more than 200 references of organic, biodynamic and vegan wine. "Our sommelier is the perfect guide to find the right wine for every occasion," says Javier.

Cibus It is a more casual restaurant, more designed for families. Their specialty is grills and rice dishes, in addition to the chef's suggestions that come out every day with the seasonal products that arrive, and it also has a careful wine list. The best? Dispose of a large terrace with views of the Parque de la Serralada Litoral.

“In the Gastro Wine Bar you will find a careful selection of tapas and dishes with seasonal and organic products paired with organic wines and beers”, adds Javier. “Finally, we also have a Lounge Bar, called Stella, and the curiosity of this space is that it is all glass to enjoy the views during the day and see the stars at night. In addition, Stella Bar is ideal to complete a gastronomic experience whether you are having an infusion, coffee or cocktail.

FOR WHOM? “We have a strong local component based on couples and families. During the Easter and summer holidays, the international client reaches 50%. On the other hand, during the week we have many business and MICE customers who come to our facilities to do business meetings, team building and incentives”.

The most popular activities at the resort are Saturday yoga classes hiking along the Serralada Litoral and the ebikes that are available to customers so they can do their routes. “Many also like the activities we do with our staff, such as cooking workshops with the chef, organic wine tasting with the sommelier or the cocktail workshop with the mixologist”, sums up Javier.

“In addition, we offer the opportunity to make forest bathing with a specialized guide. It is an activity of Japanese origin that has the objective of reconnect with oneself and feel contact with nature reducing stress levels.

WHEN TO GO? As for the best season of the year to visit this hotel, it is difficult to decide, since each one has its own charm. In autumn they organize workshops related to mushrooms, for example, and the landscape is dressed in ocher and gold; Summer is the best time to enjoy the pool, the good weather and the proximity of the sea; spring offers all the natural splendor of the environment... and winter can provide the most incomparable postcard if it snows...
