On the trail of design in Valencia: the city launches the 'Map of Disseny'
Valencia is more alive than ever . And it's not just us who say it, there are more and more studies that confirm that we are facing one of the cities with the most projection of the future today and numerous projects, openings, launches, news and professionals from different sectors do nothing more than demonstrate that we have a city for a while.
Added to all his cultural heritage , to an atmosphere charged with festivity and optimism, and a gastronomic tradition that looks to the Mediterranean raising passions… Oh, Valencia!
To all this we must add the best of news and that is that as we already know -and surpassing all clichés- the city can boast of being throughout 2022 the World Design Capital.

A degree awarded by the committee of World Design Organization and whose intention on the part of Valencia World Design Capital 2022 is not just to focus on the coming year -which is also- but carry out a much deeper transformation process that has already begun and promises to continue over time. Leave a legacy and give the city the value in terms of design and creativity that it has long deserved.
The next step -but not the last- in this great conglomerate of actions on the occasion of its capital status? He lands in the city Disseny Map ', a live mapping and continuous movement of Valencia through its design hot spots.
THE VALENCIAN DESIGN ROUTE
If a few weeks ago the new project saw the light DNACeramic , led by the artist Ana Illueca, born with the purpose of locating craft professionals that with her work they exponentially value design in the Valencian Community from the field of ceramics; it is now when the 'Map of Disseny' arrives.
Powered by Valencia World Design Capital 2022 and Visit València , In collaboration with District Agency (communication, cultural creation, content, audiovisual and design), this Valencian map shows from galleries, restaurants, museums, cafes, hotels, shops, creative spaces and everything you can imagine where the design is part of it visually or as an intangible and historical asset. From the Central Market, through the Federal Café, the Ice Factory or the Museum of Fine Arts...
Initially organized by neighborhoods, we find the districts of Ciutat Vella, Benimaclet, Extramurs, l'Eixample, Jesús, Patraix, Campanar, Poblats Marítims, Pla del Real or La Saïdia . Later -and progressively- any enclave will have a place in this guide that promises to mark a before and after in the way of understanding design in the city of the Turia.

A map in which, by way of consultation, it will grow and grow as the weeks and months go by, with the intention of creating a large conglomerate of points distributed and created through collective participation.
"A tool so that each citizen can create their own design routes and comprehensively understand the positive impact it has on the city. An instrument that can grow over time to become real routes to visit around the city of Valencia”, they tell Traveler.es from Valencia World Design Capital 2022.
“The objectives of the ‘Design Map’ go through promote the didactics of design; reinforce the professional network of local design, generating a community; and practice territorial branding , contributing to the challenge on Valencian design”, they add.

Designed both for the local and for the millions of travelers who come to enjoy the charms of Valencia every year -either for the first time or for the umpteenth time-, this cartographic proposal comes in three different versions: Spanish, Valencian and English . To reach the widest audience possible!
And how does it materialize? On one hand we have the digital aspect -with a consultation website that is updated daily-, and, on the other, on a physical map that will be available soon at tourist offices both of the Valencia city as well as other points outside of Spain, once the map has been completed in its entirety.
You know: the time has come to get behind the design trail. The trip promises to be extraordinary.
