The incredible altar of the Dead at the entrance.

A window to Mexico from Chamberí to all of Spain. that's the new house of mexico, opened last October 1 and located in a mansion from the beginning of the 20th century on Alberto Aguilera street in Madrid. A space that these days, and until the end of November, shows off its profusely decorated façade cempasuchil garlands, those orange and purple flowers that are full of meaning on these dates, around the Day of the Dead.

The artist Betsabee Romero She was in charge of this colorful premiere that makes us think "that we entered into an offering," says Rubén Piza, communication director of Casa de México.

Details of the altar, catrinas and skulls.

Upon entering we find a great altar of the dead, a skull almost a story high that has been the great attraction since this new space opened. “Last weekend alone we had about 600 people visit us,” he says. And the photos that flew through the social networks of the altar confirm the success.

But the celebration of the Day of the Dead is only the beginning of the tight agenda proposed by the Casa de México in Madrid. “It is a platform for the dissemination of Mexico in Spain from different angles”, explains Rubén. “A platform to promote culture, business and entrepreneurship, a place of connection with activities around health, sport, education, science and technology”.

Only the first year they have underway more than 500 activities. That is to say, almost two different activities a day that will be distributed among the multiple spaces of the three floors of the mansion.

It will be an opportunity to try another type of cuisine from the country, one of the main objectives of this new space. In fact, on that same floor, there is the Gastronomic classroom, where there will be cooking and mixology or cocktail workshops. Meetings with chefs, with bartenders.

Finally, they point out the coworking room open to receive meetings of Spanish and Mexican businessmen with common interests.
