The MATE now houses the largest collection of Testino
The MATE, located in the heart of Barranco, the district that embodies the cultural earthquake that Lima is experiencing, is a restored mansion, an example of 19th-century republican architecture. There will rest the images of the marble models, actresses and influential people of our time photographed by Testino . The center will also serve to encourage creativity and as a platform for cultural exchange between Peruvian artists and international creators.
Mario Testino has been carrying out an intense activity promoting Peruvian art for years. He has created bridges between galleries in Lima and London , he has participated as a curator in the exhibition of contemporary Latin American artists at the Andrea Rosen Gallery in New York and has edited the book Lima, Peru, which presents works by local artists that reflect the diversity of the city.
The palace has seven exhibition halls and two halls that surround an interior patio, and has the Café and Bodega MATE for a drink. The institution hopes to be part of the international art circuit, and as the inaugural exhibition, 'Todo o Nada' by Mario Testino, can be seen until December 23, 2012.

In the presentation of the center, Testino spoke of the "incredible energy" he feels every time he visits Peru . This same energy is the same that we have felt at Condé Nast Traveler when visiting the city and observing the creative effort of young artists, designers, architects, musicians and writers, which is complemented by the appearance of new projects such as MATE.
