Go for the Snitch!

– Scared Harry? - A little. – Don't worry, I was the same in my first game. - What happened? – Honestly, I don't remember... A bludger hit me in the head five minutes later. I woke up a week in the hospital.

Impossible to forget this dialogue between Oliver Wood and Harry Potter moments before jumping onto the pitch with a broom in hand. Quidditch, sport par excellence in the Wizarding World has fascinated us ever since J.K. Rowling introduced him to us in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

We've dreamed of being Keepers and stopping all the quaffles, Beaters to repel the bludgers, Chasers to score and of course, Seekers on the hunt for the prized snitch, like Harry.

Well, we can stop dreaming, because on November 12 Knight Games launches Harry Potter: Catch the Snitch, the new board game where Quidditch jumps onto the game board. Oh, and it's Muggle-friendly too.

QUIDDITCH FOR BEGINNERS

It's never too late to learn to play Quidditch dear muggle –because that alone explains why you don't know the basic rules–, so let's go with an express lesson.

Quidditch is played in an oval-shaped stadium with three hoops located on each side and at different heights. In the game they intervene two teams of seven players each: a Keeper, two Beaters, three Chasers, and a Seeker.

The three types of balls involved are: Quaffle, Bludger and the Golden Snitch. The Chasers must put the Quaffle through the opposing team's hoops, thus earning 10 points. The Keeper tries to prevent the opposing team from putting the Quaffle into the hoops.

Bludgers are large, heavy balls that fly hard and are received by Beaters, which use small bats to prevent them from hitting the players on their team and sending them to the opposing team.

Finally, the golden snitch is a walnut-shaped ball with small wings that moves quickly. If one of the Seekers catches the snitch, he earns 150 points and ends the match.

Will you manage to catch the Golden Snitch?

LET'S JUMP ON THE BOARD!

In Harry Potter: Catch the Snitch you will lead a team of seven players, represented by miniatures, and you will play various tactical cards to move your units around the field.

Each player's goal rings are placed at each end of the backboard, and players must move to the side of the opposing team.

Players can choose from four different teams, corresponding to each of the Hogwarts houses: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Slytherin and Ravenclaw.

Each house has its own unique set of tactical cards based on how that team plays in the magical saga books and movies. For example, Gryffindor have cards designed to allow them to make daring moves, while Slytherin's cards produce negative effects on their opponent's hand.

The Gryffindor and Slytherin team figurines are characterized according to the players that appear in the films, while the Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw players are unnamed.

STEPS TO VICTORY

The objective? The same as in the Wizarding World: Be the first team to catch the Golden Snitch.

The game is divided into two distinct phases: In the first, teams compete on the field, trying to outplay their rivals by executing the best tactics and earning Snitch cards.

When the Golden Snitch appears, the second phase begins and the team's seekers begin a frantic race to catch this elusive ball.

Success in the first phase will put you in the best possible position to overcome the rival seeker and claim victory.

Oh, and remember the magic word for riding your broom: Up!
