a unique place, so rabidly contemporary and modern that almost nobody understood it when it was revealed back in 2010. But it is already known that from those criticisms to these praises only time passes.
Atrio's story was always like this. It is the story of an impossible dream. The dream of two brave men –Toño Pérez and José Polo– who wanted to transfer the luxury and savoir faire of the great European restaurants to the heart of Extremadura.

And so they did in 1986, when nobody even imagined something like this in a provincial city. How not to miss that dining room of fabrics and woods, of glass and Cartier tableware and of waiters who looked like admirals of the Royal Navy.
How not to recall gargantuan meals and dreamy bottles that could have been in the Place des Vosgues... but were in the Plaza de los Maestros.

Today Atrium is something else. He has grown, he has grown older. Its chassis is of design, of an overwhelming architectural purity.
The Tuñón y Mansilla project shines with its own light as it merges with its historical surroundings.
Everything has become more professional, it is more measured, it is more neat and dazzling. All in pursuit of that recognition that some still deny them.
Gastronomic luxury in the heart of Cáceres
There are eternal dishes like the Prawn carpaccio with sour cream and smoked caviar or the irreplaceable Iberian pork skin with Norway lobster and creamy poultry broth along with new creations, such as the Nettles with Imperial caviar and celeriac puree or the splendid red mullet with hazelnut and watercress pesto and sparkling Calvados juice, pure harmony.

and continues that wonderful warehouse whose revaluation year after year reminds us that once we were less poor.
Along the way they have lost the luxury of the menu and those Alcántara-style partridges that are so missed. But that is another story.
