Just a couple of weeks ago it opened its doors in the number 66 Cea Bermúdez street this Eden that invites you to live an authentic sensory experience full of smell and color where the feeling, the feeling of eternity and good work are the three great fundamental pillars. Are we entering paradise?

MON PARNASSE: BETWEEN CLASSICAL GREECE AND PARIS

In the shadow of this ambitious launch are four entrepreneurs of different nationalities (Spanish, French, Swiss and Japanese) lovers and experts of the flower world that one day they decided to join forces to create a firm that did not understand languages, countries or borders.

"Mon Parnasse arises after a meeting in Tokyo of the now partners when talking about creating a large-scale project that would revolutionize the world of florists, create something that had not been given to date ”, tells Traveler.es Paula Zuza, Director of Human Resources at Mon Parnasse . Said and done.

The choice of name is not random. Despite the fact that at first it seems that Paris is the origin of it, we have to go a little further east of the map, Well, it is Greece that steals the main role.

Mon Parnasse

An atelier, a garden, a flower shop

"In Classical Greece, Mount Parnassus was the place where the muses lived . Later, in the Paris of the 17th century, the poets met on a hill on the outskirts of the city; became so popular that, when it was decided to build the neighborhood, it was called Montparnasse in honor of the Greek mountain, the art and poetry of nature ”, indicates Paula Zuza. This flower shop is our particular Mount Parnassus.

The fact that Madrid was -ahead of other countries- the first city to start this business adventure was also a decision with very little margin for error: “ Madrid is undoubtedly the 'City of Light' . As much as they say about Paris, the capital of Spain is like being surrounded by a large garden. We are a Latin country, a country of the street, of going out, of relating... and we wanted to start testing this concept in a destination where people follow this same philosophy ”, adds Paula Zuza.

Especially in this last very difficult year where the spirits are increasingly gloomy, a project like this comes to illuminate and add a little color to this complicated situation. “The pandemic did not stop us. Rather the other way around, it has given us more desire to revolutionize the city”, they say from Mon Parnasse.

Being an initiative of such magnitude where the partners are distributed in different parts of the world, contact with producers has no limits. It is the added value that this new concept gives them.

"The world of flowers is very curious because in the end it always goes through different distributors, but by setting up this international conglomerate, what it allows us is to have the strength to negotiate with the producer, with the purpose of selling the flower at an adjusted price and of incalculable quality . All this without the need to go through intermediaries”, says Zuza.

Once in the establishment, an exhibition of varied flowers welcomes the client where he can select the combinations that he considers appropriate.

Some of the options that never fail? In the words of the store manager, Irene Aragonés : "we can find supreme quality roses, lilies, carnations, peonies, buttercups, poppies … But, without a doubt, the star at the moment is the protea . They are selling a lot!” she indicates.

And of course, not forgetting flowers per unit that are located with the naked eye as they are exposed according to a color pantone to be quickly identified by the client.

“In addition to flowers and plants, we market candles of our own brand with pure essence , made exclusively for us in eight different scents. And -of course- all kinds of accessories, such as pots and vases to accompany the natural element in question”, adds Irene Aragonés.

A GREAT INTEGRAL PROJECT

Impossible to talk about Mon Parnasse and not refer to its staging, aesthetics and decoration . At the head of it, the Wozere creative studio, together with the Canobardin architecture studio, have created and executed this project in an integral way.

A playful, romantically French and immersive scenery It is the main axis of union of the entire store. From the shop window full of flowers placed in harmony and balance to the interior of the premises covered with mirrors and whose ceiling overflows with large blue clouds.

“Space is based on architectural plan of the french garden , specifically, that of Versailles. There is symmetry, perspective and gaps for surprise . The colors also come from those gardens: the two primary ones are pale green and pale gray , which bring calm and balance; on these appear the secondary ones: yellow, pale red and lavender , which are those of the flowers and provide energy and vibration in the environment”, they comment from Wozere when talking about the staging.

THIS HAS ONLY STARTED

But this does not end at Cea Bermúdez 66, rather it is the first link in a journey that -for the moment- presents infinite possibilities . A few days ago they opened a new place also in Madrid, but this time in the 32 Doctor Arce Avenue (El Viso neighborhood).

And later? In the short term, it is time to leave Spain to land in Geneva, the Netherlands and in Taiwan . And from the last stage of 2021 return to Madrid to open other new stores. And adding!

In the words of Paula Zuza: “Mon Parnasse is a brand guided by passion, by the product and by nature. It has been created by people who are absolutely in love with flowers and that they want to approach this in a different way than how we are used to buying them, ”she says.
