Planet Organic

Kale salad, quinoa and secret dressing.

Planet Organic It is the last (or penultimate) paradise of healthy food in Madrid, but it is not new. Quite the contrary. Planet Organic was born in 1994, “a 100% Madrid project”, says its owner María Sáez, who, inspired by what was already being done in cities like London, wanted to select for the Madrid consumer the best products available on the market: organic, ecological and respectful. Today this sounds like a piece of cake, but 24 years ago the world was not yet ready for a healthy diet philosophy that not only seeks to take care of oneself but also to take care of the planet we inhabit.

Two decades later they maintain their original premises in Las Rozas, they added another in Madrid capital and now they are expanding the concept with this multispace open all day which is a cafeteria, market and restaurant.

Planet Organic

A spacious and healthy room.

“Food & Life” is the slogan in which Planet Organic moves and it explains very well why they think “that organic food is not just certified food”. Although they do not lack certificates and in the wide repertoire of products they have in their store (from legumes and cereals to cosmetics) they all have their certificate "to certify that traditional techniques, processes and customs have been used and in harmony with the environment and health”, the important thing is that healthy food leaves those shelves, kitchens and tables and becomes "respect, care and health" at any time of the day.

Planet Organic

Aim well: boletus croquettes.

And all this is not synonymous with boring or monotonous. The menu created by the two chefs behind Planet Organic, Maximo Forcatto Delgado and Daniel Cruces Cerro, It is the result of a perfect harmony between international and current cuisine with a healthy diet. There are vegan, vegetarian, raw vegan options, for all kinds of intolerances, and there is also meat, fish.

"It was quite a challenge," explains Forcatto, of Argentine origin and trained, among others, with the former chef of the Duchess of Alba. “We have ingredients that I had never used and others that you can no longer use.” Although a priori it might seem limited to always cook with products that follow strict production and distribution standards, in the end it was richer for the menu, defends from its spacious kitchen, very clean and in view of the entire lower room, proof of this gastronomy honest they practice.

Planet Organic

Healthy cooking is also fun cooking.

In fact, the menu is very extensive. It is divided into 'Starters and salads', where dishes such as boletus croquettes, warm quinoa salad or the divorciaditos broken eggs; continues with 'Sautéed and woks', where there are from tacos al pastor to won tons; and continues with the 'Oven and grill', where it goes from the spelled based pizzas at vegan burgers or veal. Not to forget the desserts, all made there and with recipes as special as their carrot cake.

At noon they offer a daily menu formula that changes weekly with dishes as elaborate as those you will find on the menu available for lunch and dinner from Thursday to Saturday.
