With the aim of celebrating the quality of what is ours and highlighting local excellence, the DYC brand has just launched a limited edition of 70 unique numbered bottles of whiskey single malt –made with care for 20 years– that bears the name DYC 20: Grand Masters. A most appropriate naming if we take into account that for the design of its exclusive and spectacular bottle, as well as its red case, it has had the collaboration of Lorenzo Caprile, master ambassador of the highest quality and representative of Spanish design throughout the world.

“It is a personal honor to be part of this project to create an authentic jewel for the senses”, Caprile has confessed, who found the inspiration in our traditions and in the artisan spirit and respect for sustainability that it shares with the Segovian distillery.

LOCAL TEACHERS

In his design, Caprile recreates and pays homage to the beauty of growing up in a unique setting and exceptional, for which he has sketched a majestic bottle, faceted in glass, whose stems evoke the highest peaks of the Sierra de Guadarrama –location of the first and only whiskey distillery in Spain–, and which ends with a glass stopper with edges. Because you don't have to go very far to run into the muses, the nature of the Segovian environment it has everything a great artist could wish for.

The decanter is inside a case also designed by Caprile, in which red takes center stage , the designer's fetish color and for which he is internationally recognized. Made of velvet, with vegetable dyes, and decorated on the outside with the traditional Segovian sgraffito, opens with two doors as a wardrobe, inside which rests this work of art that combines design, luxury and craftsmanship.

The designer has not been alone in this unique project, since each of the 70 bottles of DYC 20: Grand Masters has been manufactured by the Royal Crystal Factory of La Granja . An artisanal process, using blown glass, in which an exclusive mold has been used to shape the glass, which is subsequently carved by hand, which makes this edition a a work of art that combines innovation, quality and pride in Spanish know-how. THE LIQUID (AND EXCLUSIVE) ELEMENT

The most important quality of the limited edition is not only the design DYC 20: Grand Masters , since this delicate and artisanal jewel hides within it a single malt whiskey that is equally careful and exquisite, since the production of the 70 unique bottles is the result of a long aging process in a single American oak barrel single use, which has previously contained bourbon, thus becoming the oldest and unique single barrel Of the brand.

DYC has wanted to go a step further and has decided to make a unique and exclusive piece, through collaboration with other great national masters: Durán Joyeros. Representatives of tradition and craftsmanship in the high jewelry sector, they have been in charge of decorate decanter No. 1 with a unique jewel, made exclusively for this edition, in 18-carat gold set with six diamonds and inspired by the traditional entrance arch of the DYC distillery in Segovia, which will be auctioned in an upcoming event with a charitable purpose.
