Alpe d'Huez, in the French Alps: the best ski resort of 2020
Like every year, ** European Best Destinations ** (an organization dedicated to promoting European tourism based in Brussels) has proposed a winter challenge to its followers and readers: choose which ski slopes, which passes, which snowy resorts... They are the best on the continent. Namely: What is the best ski resort in Europe?
More than 100,000 travelers from 98 countries have voted for ten days (specifically, 112,889 people ) . And they have decided. And no, no Spanish station is among the top 15 (it is difficult to compete with the snow levels Austrian, Swiss and French ) . In the ranking, in fact, only two stations from Italy have been included in this snowy triumvirate (Livigno, at number 4, and Cortina d'Ampezzo, at 9).
The rest of the top 15 are flooded by **France (with six stations), Switzerland (with four) and Austria (with 3)**. And at number 1, the undisputed winner: Alpe d'Huez, with 24,185 votes (" Never has a winning destination received so many votes ", they comment in the official press release of European Best Destinations).

THE BIG WINNER: ALPE D'HUEZ
It is clear that the vast majority of travelers prefer to visit this corner of the French Alps which is Alpe d'Huez . A ski resort that was born in the 1930s with the construction of its first ski lift and whose 1850 meters altitude make up this great challenge of 21 horseshoe bends that the intrepid cyclists of the Tour de France.

Us, we Spaniards prefer to cross the border to ski in Alpe d'Huez , in Val Thorens in second place, and in Crans Montana (Switzerland) as third option.
In the voting history of European Best Destination, the great favorite of travelers, however, is Val Thorens. Although this year, Alpe d'Huez has taken the cake, being the most voted of 62 countries (among which is Belgium, Spain, the United Kingdom, Norway, the United States, France, Finland, Sweden, Luxembourg, Portugal, Australia, India, China and, curiously, the Vatican).
