“It is not necessary to have been born in Paris to have the style of a Parisian. I am the best example: I was born in Saint-Tropez!” so it begins Ines de la Fressange her book La Parisienne, and Anne-Fleur Broudehoux, founder of the French brand Roseanna, is another good example of it.

Although she currently lives and works in Paris, Anne-Fleur was born and raised in Lille , in northern France, a region historically associated with the textile industry.

She always had it clear: “I wanted to work in fashion, that was the ultimate goal. When I was 18 years old, I moved to Paris and started my studies at ESMOD/ISEM,” Anne-Fleur tells Condé Nast Traveler.

After working in firms of the stature of Alberta Ferretti, Chloé and Donna Karan , Anne-Fleur launched, together with a childhood friend, Roseanna , a swimwear line that quickly grew into something much bigger, incorporating parts ready-to-wear, accessories and footwear.

Today it is Anne-Fleur alone who is in charge of Roseanna and designs all the collections of this firm that has already become one of our favorite french brands , not only because of that French je ne sai quois that we like so much, but because its values, the careful selection of fabrics and its durability.

Marion Cotillard, Mélanie Laurent, Anaïs Demoustier, Michelle Williams and French singer Juliette Armanet They have already been seen on several occasions dressed as Roseanna. And we understand perfectly: he is so chic!

“AN ART OF LIVING”

“Roseanna is a people-oriented, creative firm backed by a promise of high-quality manufacturing” Anne-Fleur explains to us from the 10th arrondissement of Paris, where she lives and works.

The creative director herself defines the Roseanna woman as “A cheerful, curious, natural, free and daring woman. She wants to make unique decisions and supports them. She looks for high quality clothes, from committed companies. Roseanna is about being a multi-faceted woman."

By now, it's clear that Roseanna is much more than a clothing brand , is also, as the French would say, a "art de vivre".

A way of understanding life that materializes in handmade pieces, high quality fabrics and exclusive prints , all under the premise of timelessness.

Each of the collections is designed to last over time and evolve towards “a complete, inspired, unique and always up-to-date wardrobe” , so that each garment and accessory can be worn season after season without losing an iota of charm.

By the way, why the name Roseanna? Because everything arose from a friendship, that of Roxane and Anne-Fleur: "It's a mix of our nicknames: Rose for Roxane and Anna for Anne-Fleur," she comments the latter.

THE INSPIRATION

Each collection arises from an encounter, or an emotion, caused by an artist, a craftsman, a city, a remarkable woman either a movie.

“Everything inspires me! Music, movies, my children... and even more trivial things like a tablecloth in a restaurant. I'm lucky that inspiration finds me quite easily! I can wear just about anything, and I love it!” , Anne-Fleur tells Condé Nast Traveler.

In fact, is the music the one that has inspired the latest collection of the French brand , which has as its motto “I got life!” . Thus, Anne-Fleur Broudehoux, attracted by the rhythms of soul and the famous Stax sound (made popular by the record company Stax Records in the 1960s) has designed a wardrobe for a woman who loves music, which could well be personified in the figure of Nina Simon.

the simple Ain't got no / I got life (1968) is one of the most famous songs by Simone, pianist, singer and composer and we can perfectly imagine a woman Walking by the streets of paris dressed as Roseanna with this background theme.

For this autumn-winter, Roseanna proposes intense and magnetic colors –like the aubergine, klein blue and emerald green of its virgin wool sweaters and cardigans–, jacquard blouses, skirts and dresses made from EcoVero eco-friendly viscose blend fibers – we love the Elton skirt – as well as 100% vegan faux fur garments.

To walk around Paris in style, go for the loafers (with python print), sensible heeled boots and the one that promises to become the trend of the season: clogs with wooden soles!

THE VALUES

From the beginning, they were clear about the values that Roseanna should embody, so transparency and high standards have always been part of the brand's principles, long before it published its CSR policies.

Your commitment? “Consciously conceiving, through a small selection of suppliers and partners, durable alternatives to the traditional ways of creating and choosing quality and responsibly sourced materials.

“The choice of materials is fundamental to the process. It is part of the DNA of our brand and we are very attached to each and every one of the fabrics that we choose,” Anne-Fleur tells Condé Nast Traveler.

Most fabrics come from Italy, although some wools and tweeds are imported from the UK. “We manufacture in Europe, with 15% manufacturing in France and we also produce our knitwear in Italy and about 20% of the collection in Portugal (primarily our footwear and jersey styles),” she adds.

Also, Italy is one of Anne-Fleur's favorite countries to travel to: “My favorite destinations are mainly there: I love Sicily and the Aeolian Islands (especially Stromboli). This summer we travel to procida and we spend a lot of time amsterdam where I have family. I love being in Amsterdam, the energy of the city calms me down”, says the founder of Roseanna.
