The stone

La Pedrera, one of the photographic scenarios of Barcelona

** TAIL, BECAUSE YES!, BY ISABEL STEVE (TAIL) **

Know the work of Isabel Steve aka Colita , supposes knowing what happened in Barcelona in the last 55 years. Especially with this exhibition in The stone , which focuses on collecting the body of work of this brilliant graphic chronicler by theme.

Show business and the world of entertainment from her work for Fotogramas, the feminist struggle, the Catalan Nova Cançó, the Gauche Divine with which she was so closely related, her collaborations with Pavlovsky and the attractive universe of flamenco have been some of her main targets at this time. Her lucidity and her humor are present in a look that she has observed for years to personalities like that of Terenci Moix or Joan Manuel Serrat . She tells it herself in a video-interview which is projected in this exhibition until mid-July.

La Pedrera, the name commonly given to Casa Milá, was built by Gaudí just over a century ago in the Paseo de Gracia . Now it is one of the best known cultural centers in a city full of great museums. Cost: 3 euros.

LOVE ME BY ZED NELSON

Photographer Zed Nelson does in love me a journey through 25 images through the obsession with eternal youth and beauty that, surprisingly, are present in more cultures than we imagine. This second trip is a brief return to the current world which can be visited until August 31 on the first floor of the Palau Robert, in the heart of Paseo de Gracia with Avenida Diagonal.

The idea of beauty imposed by the West has become globalized and has generated a global industry that exceeds 160,000 million dollars annually (more than 117,000 million euros). Are we obsessed with the cult of the body? Are we citizens really free in our opinions and desires? These are some of the questions that Nelson asks us with his images.

The Palau Robert where this exhibition is located was once the private residence of aristocrat and financier Roberto Robert and Surís at the end of the 19th century and before this privileged area of Barcelona became the epicenter of the Catalan bourgeoisie. It is a few steps away from La Pedrera. Free entry.

THE MAIN CONFORMISTS OF MARTIN PARR

In the 1970s the British Martin Parr he traveled through the textile towns of the county of West Yorkshire in England and met their inhabitants. Their native customs and laws were being lost due to the arrival of young artists from the city who settled in the area to change everything forever. because hipsters and gentrification have been present in our society from earlier than we imagined.

This exhibition, which will be on until the end of July at the La Virreina Image Center, documents in 75 images day by day of miners, textile factory workers and farmers, in addition to paying special attention to the religious cult that gives its name to this work. Reflecting the customs of Yorkshire Methodist and Baptist churches it shows us the independent spirit of the people who inhabited it and that largely disappeared over time.

In addition to discovering one of the initial and least expected works of a photography genius, it is worth visiting the Viceroy's Palace where he stays, considered a jewel of the eighteenth century baroque and located in the middle of Rambla. Free entry.
