A futuristic design covered in white shapes the Blagoveshchensk station in Russia.
It may seem like a new chapter of Black Mirror, but it is as real as life itself: The first cable car with which you can travel between Russia and China arrives. Specifically, it will connect the cities of Blagoveshchensk and Heihe.
The project is signed by UNStudio, the company in charge of designing the station in the Russian city of Blagoveshchensk . Like any station (although conventional is not exactly the adjective that defines it), it will have gastronomic, commercial and leisure spaces , all of them under a futuristic white design.
However, just as they reinvent the traditional trip, they also reinvent the space where it takes place. Leisure will not have a secondary role, since they claim that the terminal is attached to the Blagoveshchensk Cultural Center . With this, they will ensure that they create a complete experience, not only in terms of the journey, but also performances and events that took place on the platform.
The Amur River will be the route followed by the new cable car between Russia and China.
The path that links these two cities is the Amur River , especially when it freezes, becoming a real commercial and social connection network. Not as high as a plane, not as low as a ship, now you will have the opportunity to visit it (and enjoy it) very closely, with breathtaking views.
Two lines and four cabins are the numbers that occupy the project. Each of them can accommodate 60 passengers and, although the actual travel time is three and a half minutes, the estimated duration will finally be seven and a half minutes . In other words, rather than staying in the cabin, you are going to take a walk through it.
Far from becoming the complement of a mere means of transport, the station in Russia is intended to become a tourist destination on its own . The height that it will enjoy to enable trips will make this one of the the best viewpoints in the city . From the top, you can enjoy the best views of Heihe, as well as Blagoveshchensk for those passengers coming from China.
