Recreation of the new church in Copenhagen
The project will be the work of the JAJA Architects studio and Søren Jensen Engineers, who won the competition for its construction thanks to an idea that they always had in mind turn this church into a spiritual space for the individual and an urban space for the community. And it is that the general public will be able to access the building when religious ceremonies are not being officiated to participate in the different activities that are organized, they explain from JAJA Architects.
An ascending spiral will occupy the facade
In addition to the unusual approach, the design will also be responsible for adding originality to the Copenhagen skyline. An ascending spiral ramp will act as a facade, culminating in a roof from where you can enjoy views of the city. The columns will be present throughout the ascent, which will have openings to move from the outside to the inside of the building at any point, avoiding having to go through the main entrance again for movement. There will also be terraces at different heights that will invite visitors to gather. All this, in an immaculate white color.
On the façade there will be spaces for gathering
Water will play a leading role in the design, not only because the church is located in front of an aquatic surface, but because a course of ponds and water gardens will be created irrigated by a spring that will cause the water to run from the top of the building to the port . This experience around the water will not always be the same: it will change depending on the weather. Thus, for example, on a rainy day the ponds will overflow creating small waterfalls all over the façade. Don't worry, the columns will serve to shelter you.
