Verses are sought to shape an infinite and universal poem

Collective magic to unite us through poetry in a year, this 2020, in which we have seen ourselves separated and, many times, isolated. And it is that, as the creators of this initiative say, the POETAS festival team, “We all carry a verse inside, even the word Universe carries it”.
So, search within yourself and face the challenge of condense your essence in a verse of 70 characters that represents you. Then, anonymously or with authorship, post it on Twitter (@PoemUniversal), send it via SMS or, alternatively, to the Universal Poem website.
It will be on this website where the complete poem will be always available to be read, translated, printed or shared. In addition, it will be possible to search by author, read all the verses grouped by authorship, detect the most productive areas on a world map and control the number of verses published to date.
Verse by verse, this beautiful poem will take shape mixing languages, written from right to left or from left to right, with or without authorship, with total freedom, without censorship... Enriching each other through poetry and creating a legacy that aspires to have a social and educational impact for the entire species.

Conceived and coordinated by the POETAS festival team, with the support of Versópolis, a European platform for poetry festivals, and with funding from the Creative Europe Grants of the European Community, Universal Poem also aspires to transcend the purely digital environment.
And it is that in addition to its page and the possibility that anyone can host it on its website, those responsible for this initiative they want it to be seen on facades and passageways in emblematic buildings around the world, where two screens will be installed: one with the last verse published and another with the number of verses already written. Their presence will also be sought in the form of art installation in museums and art galleries and will be offered for use in annual cultural activity programs. They haven't forgotten hospitals, schools to encourage the participation of the youngest, of NGOs and other agents who seek and fight to improve things.
